Assistance Forum Questions on Specialties and Characters:

  1. Clarification (Draconian Social Levels) What does social level mean for a Draconian born on Draconia?
  2. Expansion (Extra Starting Skill) Could starting characters get an extra skill of their choice, to represent background knowledge?
  3. Correction (Neural Sockets for Field Specialties) Field Hackers, Field Medics and Field Techs seem to need CyberImplant - Neural Socket.
  4. Correction (Repair - Starship should be Repair - Vehicle) The following specialties have the misnamed skill "Repair - Starship": Rigger, Gunnery Officer, Construction.
  5. Correction (Specialty Order) Some of the specialties are not in alphabetical order.
  6. Clarification (Unarmed Combat Skills) It said "one unarmed combat skill" in mecha pilot skills. Is there more than one?
  7. Clarification ("One Unlearned" Skills) If a character has a specialty that lists (one unlearned), does that mean all skills of that type can be purchased for 10 EXP each? That is, once you've bought the skills needed to advance to a new specialty can you continue to purchase more?
  8. Clarification (Skill for Concentrations) How does buying skills work for specialties with concentrations?
  9. Clarification ("Unnecessary Skills") Is it really necessary to purchase skills like Carousing for the hovercraft pilot?
  10. Correction (Starting Vehicles) There seem to be problems with the starter sheets given on pages 200 and 201.
  11. Correction (Human Heights) According to the character generation rules no human male can be under 6 feet tall. Is this a typo?
  12. Clarification (Draconian Heights) The height of the red draconian female is 3d6+63" inches, while the blues and onthers are +64". Is this a mistake?
  13. Correction (Programmer Equipment) The Programmer specialty, has "x c" as opposed to an actual number in his equipment. What should the value be?
  14. Expansion (Starting Characters) Starting characters seem weak. What else can we give them?
  15. Correction (Rigger's Swimming Skill) Where is the Rigger's Swimming skill described?

Assistance Forum Questions on Savants:

  1. Clarification (Power Surge and Short Circuits) Why isn't a power surged weapon dead as a doornail? Is it possible to burn a weapon out?
  2. Correction (EXP Example) Page 222 gives an example with a cost of 200 EXP. Is this a typo?
  3. Clarification (TK Grappling) If a savant wants to use TK to grab a gun out of someone's hand, how does that work?
  4. Expansion (Improved TK Rules) This improved and corrected version of Telekinesis corrects a problem with some offensive uses of the power.
  5. Clarification (Telepathy and Mind Control) Can a savant use Telepathy to meet the communication requirements for Mind Control?
  6. Clarification (Utility of Energy Shields) What good are a savant's shields if you can't do anything else while they're on?
  7. Clarification (Dodging Throwing Attacks) Can an NPC use an interrupt action to dodge my savant's use of Throwing Attacks? Does he need cover?

Assistance Forum Questions on Skills and Tests:

  1. Clarification (Critical Results) Why are there critical failures, but no critical successes?
  2. Clarification (Marksmanship Skill) What kinds of attacks is Marksmanship applicable to?
  3. Clarification (Piloting Test Modifiers) The -20 penalty imposed to piloting checks for not having the right Maneuvers skill appears to only be listed under those skills. It should probably be mentioned in chapter 7.
  4. Expansion (Drug Manufacture) What is the scope of the create drug skill?
  5. Expansion (Drug Manufacture) I decided to have my pharmacist roll quality tests when making drugs - should this be for drug quality, or quantity?
  6. Clarification (AI Skill Tests) How does an AI make skill tests?
  7. Correction (Index Entry) For quality tests, the page number is mislabeled in the index. It should be page 83, not 87.
  8. Clarification (Programming Test Modifiers) On page 219, you said there's a Programming test modifier of -5 per PR. Clarification please.
  9. Correction (Aiming Discrepancies) The chart on p. 163 implies that aiming works exactly like extended time for skills, while the text on p. 164 states that there are significant differences.
  10. Clarification (Location of Teaching Test) I can't seem to find Teaching in Chapter 4. Am I blind?

  1. Clarification (Pilots' Suits) What exactly are pilots’ suits?
  2. Clarification (Mecha) How do you actually get into a mecha?
  3. Clarification (Neutron Drive Optimization) Why would you optimize a neutron drive for anything other than 5G except when pulling loads?
  4. Clarification (Drug Effects) Are there more specific effects for the drugs listed Chapter 5 of the book?
  5. Expansion (Truth Serum) Are there truth serums in Pax Draconis? Can a character make one?
  6. Expansion (EMP Weapons) Would EMP grenades exist in the Pax Draconis universe? What would their area of effect be? Etc...
  7. Clarification (Neutron Drive Costs) The description of neutron drive pricing on p 131 is confusing.
  8. Correction (Turret Rotation) Why does the chart on p.187 show some turrets w/ limited rotation, while the text on p.188 claims that all turrets have 360x90 firing arcs? Which one is right?
  9. Correction (Vehicle Crew Definition) Should a Hovercar really have a required crew of 4, or should that be 1 w/ 3 passengers? (p. 125, and a similar question applies to most of the other hover/atmospheric vehicles.)
  10. Correction (Laser Sword Picture) On p. 146, in the laser sword description, it mentions a picture that doesn't seem to exist.
  11. Clarification (Melee Weapon ROF) Why do all physical weapons have a ROF of 5s? I'd think at least some (particularly the axe and improvised) would be a bit slower.
  12. Clarification (Social Levels and Standards of Living) On p. 76 the social level in between upper middle class and wealthy is called "upper class", while on p.153 it is "affluent".
  13. Clarification (Hard Point Locations) Where exactly are Hard Points located?
  14. Clarification (Abilities of Optics) Can someone see through walls with Infra-red? What about millimeter wave?

Assistance Forum Questions on General Topics:

  1. Clarification (Layering) Why aren’t armor values additive if characters layer armor on top of other armor?
  2. Clarification (Cyborg Incapacitation) When cyborgs take damage, do they base their incapacitation test off their ED or the damage that they can take?
  3. Clarification (Mu Shin Conditions) Can a player declare boundary conditions for when Mu Shin should stop?
  4. Expansion (Option Cover Rules) Optional rules for handling cover, especially permeable cover.
  5. Expansion (Optional Falling Damage) Falling damage seem to be awfully deadly from long falls. It also doesn't seem to be equivalent to collision damage.
  6. Clarification (Cover Fire) With the current system, a very crucial tactic known as cover fire is unable to be executed because actions are completed one at a time as if they were sequential events.
