Instant Message
This board’s instant message feature allows members to send private messages to other members. To access the instant message area of your profile, you need to be logged in, then follow the link that says something like 'Hey, [username], you have x messages, x are new'.
Reading Messages
Once there you will see your ‘In Box’ with a list of messages that have been sent to you. To read a message simply click on the subject of the message and you will be able to read the message. If you wish to reply to the message sent to you, simply click on the ‘reply’ button to make a reply or click the ‘quote’ button to quote the message you are replying to.
Sending Messages
You will notice that the instant message looks like a post made on the public areas of the board, that’s because it’s almost the exact same thing except its private. So sending an instant message is similar to making a post or starting a new topic. To send a new message to someone click on the ‘New Msg’ button from the main menu of your instant message area. Once you do that you will be taken to a screen that looks almost the exact same as making a new post. The only difference is that you have to enter the username of the member or members you wish to send the message to in the top box. After you have done that and you’ve entered a message just click on the ‘Send message’ button to send the instant message. You may also choose whether to save the message to your outbox or not to save it.
Outbox
The outbox is similar to the inbox except it shows the messages you have sent to other members.
Backup
This is your backup box where you are able to save useful messages to. To save a message from your inbox to your backup box, click on the check mark to the left of the message you wish to save then scroll to the bottom and click on the ‘backup’ button. Saving a message from your outbox works the exact same way.
IM Preferences
Your instant message center has its own preferences which can be seen and edited by clicking on the ‘Preferences’ button in the menu.
- Ignore list: The ignore list allows you to block instant messages from certain members or every member if you choose to do so. To put someone on your ignore list simply enter their username in the box, remember to enter each username you wish to enter one line at a time. If you wish to not receive IMs from any member simply put a star (*) in the box.

Notify by
E-Mail: This option allows you to select whether you are notified by E-Mail
of new instant messages sent to you.

Disable IM
Popup Notification: Every time you get an IM when logged into the board a
little box will popup notifying you that you have received a new instant
message. Checking this box will disable that popup every time you get an IM.

Display
IM Viewlist: Enabling this will make all your IMs readable from the index
of your inbox and outbox.

Sound
Notification: Here you can select a small sound file that will play every
time you receive an IM.
