
Profile
Congratulations now that you’ve logged in its time to check
out your SuperMod user profile. To do that go up to the top menu bar and click
on the ‘Profile’ button which should look something like this
. Once you click
on the button you will be taken to a new screen with all the profile
information you can edit. Your SuperMod profile is divided into several
different sections the first being the required information which include the
following options depending on this boards setup.
- Username: This is your default username which cannot be changed
- Custom Title: If enabled by this board’s administrator you can enter a custom title which will appear in your posts and profile on this board.
- Name: This is the name that will be displayed to other users. If enabled by the board’s administrator this name can be edited by users.
- E-Mail Address: If you’d like to change your E-Mail address input the new address in this field. Make sure it’s a valid address though.
- Type of E-Mail received Preference: Here you may choose whether E-Mail sent from this board is in an HTML format which may include images and graphics or you can choose plain text.
The next section of your profile will be the additional information that will be included in your profile. These additional profile options include the following information.
- Gender: This allows you to select your gender. If you select a gender a symbol will appear in your posts indicating your gender to others.

Birthdate:
This allows you to enter your date of birth. If you enter your birthday in
these fields your age will appear in your profile as well as the board’s
calendar.

Location:
Enter where you live in here.

Member
Map: If enabled you can place a pin where you live on the map. By doing
this your countries flag will appear in your posts.

Instant
Messangers: These fields allow you to enter your Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, and AOL
instant messenger contact info which will appear in posts as icons as well as
in your profile.

Avatars: If
enabled you can have an avatar which will appear in your posts. Depending on
this board’s setup you can either choose from a list of avatars already
uploaded to this board’s directory, get the avatar from another website by
entering the url to the image, or uploading your own.

Choose your display name color: If enabled you may change the color in which
your name appears in posts. To do this simply enter the name of a color in the
box.

Personal
Text: Here you can enter a little blurb about yourself or a phrase of some
kind.

Signature:
If enabled you may enter your signature which will appear at the bottom of
every post you make.

Bio: Here
you may write a short bio on yourself.
The section after that will be the SuperMod preferences which will effect how the board looks to you. Most of these preferences maybe turned on and off by the board’s administrator.
- Buddy List: On SuperMod boards users may have a buddy list which is a list of friends or preferred contacts on the board. To add a member to your buddy list go to their profile and scroll to the bottom and you’ll see a link that says ‘Add this user to your buddy list’ and simply click that link. To edit your buddy list go to your own profile and scroll to the SuperMod preferences and click on the link that says ‘Manage your buddy list’. The ‘Manage your buddy list’ allow you to see a list of all the members you’ve added to your buddy list. From here you may send them instant messages or remove them from your list.
- Hide E-Mail from public: This option will allow you to hide your e-mail address from all members except board administrators.
- Use text menu instead of images: Checking this box will replace all button images to text ones.
- Old style post view: Checking this option will change the way posts look back to what they looked like on YaBBSE boards.
- Enable Bookmarks: Checking this box will turn on bookmarks which allow you to bookmark areas of the board such as topics, and member profiles.

Disable
Shoutbox: This option will allow you to turn on and off the board’s
shoutbox so you no longer see it.

Show Quick-Reply box in messageview: This option will allow you to turn on and off
the quick-reply box which appears at the bottom of topics. The quick-reply box
allows members to make quick posts without having to click the post or reply
buttons.

Disable Censoring: Checking this box will make it so that the board’s word filters
won’t effect what you see in posts.

Disable Karma Display: Checking this box will turn off your
karma. Karma is a point system which allows members to add or take away points
for other members.

Disable Magic Llama: This option allows you to turn on or off the magic llama.

Language Pack You Wish to Use: This menu will allow you to select what language
the board’s text will appear in.

Time
Format: This box will allow you to change how the board’s time is
displayed.

Time
offset: This will allow you to change what time it is on the board. To
change it enter the number of hours you wish to change it with a + or – in
front of it. Example +1.35 will change the board’s time an hour and thirty five
minutes ahead of what it was before.

Layout
Preferences: These options will allow you to select how the board looks by
either selecting a different button set or selecting a different template.

Password
Options: Here you can change your password as well as your secret question,
and answer.
Ok that’s about it with your profile, to make the changes permanent you have to enter your current password in the last box and click on the ‘Change profile’ button.
